To the Editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my supporters in District 7 of the Lumbee Tribe. The past three years have given me an opportunity to meet, serve and assist some of our tribe’s finest members in the Rowland and Pembroke area.

I am proud of the new homes that have been obtained as well as those that have been rehabilitated. My desire is to see more homes made available to our people. Hopefully, the process can be expedited. Safe and adequate living conditions are necessary for the well-being of our tribal members. I stand behind my voting record locally, statewide and nationally on issues that affect our tribe. Youth, elders and veteran’s services are important to our tribe and will continue to be a goal that I will strive toward.

I solicit your prayer as well as your vote on Nov. 13.

Robert Chavis

Pembroke

Councilman Chavis, would you please address the ongoing nightmare of alledged fraud and waste that apparently has occurred since your initial election to the Tribal Council? The people of District 7 still do not have a community building as other tribal districts do. WE ARE AWAITING YOUR RESPONSE TO THIS POST!!!!!!!!

Hey young man, how can you be proud of "homes that have been obtained"? You didn't pay for em, the people who "got" them didn't pay for em. So what's this "proud stuff" all about?

I would be ashamed to know someone elses hard earned money bought the home I have.... But I guess my pride is "different" the yours.......
