Doris “Rescue Doris” Locklear, 62, of 12169 N.C. 130 East, died Oct. 2, 2012.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Piney Grove Baptist Church, the Revs. Billy Burns and Richard Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Locklear and Hammonds family cemetery in Fairmont.
Locklear was born in Robeson County on May 26, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ander and Katheline Smith Locklear and a brother, Samuel Mack Locklear.
She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Locklear of Lake View, S.C., and Eddie A. Scott Jr. and Carla Beth Andrews of Fairmont; three sisters, Ruby Locklear and husband Steadwell of Lumberton, Sandra Burres and husband Charles of Canton and Glenda Kiser and Luther; four grandchildren, Jason Wayne Locklear, Amber Evette Locklear, Jordan Lee Scott and Alexis Brynn Scott; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Revels Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ruby Locklear, 87 Southfield Road in Lumberton.
