LUMBERTON — Eastpointe, an organization that manages behavioral health care for residents of Robeson County, will be sponsoring a free educational session on traumatic brain injuries on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at 450 Country Club Road in Lumberton.
Beth Rowell, nursing director of the Robeson County Health Department, will give a presentation on traumatic brain injury and how it relates to the Shaken Baby Syndrome and the Purple Period.

The organization will be conducting free monthly community education sessions for residents to help increase awareness and educate people on topics related to behavioral healthcare.
Eastpointe also works with individuals, families, providers, and communities in Bladen, Columbus, Duplin, Edgecombe, Greene, Lenoir, Nash, Sampson, Scotland, Wayne, and Wilson counties.
