LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County recently presented Students of Excellence awards to the following:
Early College High School — Ahweesnan Jones, Jza-Qera Pittman, Elizabeth Keenum and Lindsay Ivey; Fairmont High School — Jennifer Martinez, Aaron Epps, Jordan Tyler Monroe and James Austin Callahan; and Lumberton Sr. High School — Daniel Harper, Kiley Prevatt, Aujay Jhala and Ricardo Pojol.

LUMBERTON — Triston Strickland, a 12th-grade student at Lumberton High School and a member of the school’s FFA chapter, placed sixth in the state on Feb. 12 at the State Truck and Tractor Driving career development event.
The purpose of the event is to encourage the safe and appropriate use of vehicles in an agricultural setting. The event challenges students to safely operate a pickup truck and/or tractor through a set course with accuracy.
LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County recently recognized three employees.
They are: Lee Breck Pate, cafeteria manager at Rosenwald Elementary School, as Classified Employee of the Month; Betsy Smith, art teacher at L. Gilbert Carroll Middle School, as Certified Employee of the Month; and Judy Freeman, bus driver at Rosenwald Elementary School, as Bus Driver of the Month.
LUMBERTON — Four schools were recognized for student attendance at the meeting of the Public Schools of Robeson County’s Board of Education on Tuesday.
Honored were Tanglewood Elementary, Rowland Norment School Middle School, Early College and St. Pauls High School.
