Hayes-Leazer

James and Lucille Hayes of Barnwell, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lois Gwendolyn Hayes to Samuel Marcus Leazer, the son of Samuel and Priscilla Leazer of Lumberton.

Hayes is the granddaughter of Daniel S. Hayes and the late Idella J. Hayes of Barnwell, S.C., and the late Marvin and Albertha Green. She attended Barnwell High School in Barnwell, S.C., as well as Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va., and North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. She works as a speech-language pathologist in Charlotte.

Leazer is the grandson of the late Hiawatha and Lurenda Bert and the late Rev. John and Annie Leazer. He attended Lumberton Senior High School and North Carolina Central University and works for Leazer Agency, an insurance company in Durham.

The wedding will be held at 3 p.m. on Oct. 20 in Columbia, S.C.

Nielsen-Scott

Jay and Rhonda Lane of Dillon, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter Kaytee Lauren Nielsen of Lumberton to Anthony William Scott, the son of Alton and Maryann Scott of Lumberton. Nielsen is also the daughter of the late Keith Nielsen.

Nielsen is the granddaughter of Larry and Betty Tyner of Lumberton, Kenneth and Jean Nielsen of New Hampshire and Bethel and Betty Brigman of Brownsville. She attends Robeson Community College.

Scott is the grandson of Joe and Virginia Muse, and the late Arthur Lennon Thompson, all of Boardman, and Fred and Thurly Scott of Lumberton. He attended Lumberton Senior High School and works at Lowe’s Home Improvement of Lumberton.

The wedding will be held at Lennons Crossroad Baptist Church on Oct. 6 at 3 p.m.

Clark-Oxendine

Sandra Daniel and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry and Sherry Clark announce the engagement of their daughter Anessa Clark to Calum Oxendine the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary and Willette Oxendine.

Clark is the granddaughter of the late Claude and Carolyn Cummngs Daniel, Mr. and Mrs.Tony and Arlene Morales and Thomas Clark, all of Pembroke. She attended Purnell Swett High School and Robeson Community College, where she studied Early Childhood Education. She works for Bo’s Food Store and Sandy Plains Daycare.

Oxendine is the grandson of the late Cattie Bell Hunt Carter of Pembroke, Mr. and Mrs. William “Bill” and Lena Carter of Lumberton, and Ms. Ila Mae and the late John Oxendine of Pembroke. He attended Purnell Swett High School and Robeson Community College, where he received Basic Law Enforcement Training. He works for R&R Protective Services.

The wedding will be held on Oct. 27 at St. Annah Freewill Baptist Church at 4 p.m.

Sealey-Hughes

Brent and Donna Sealey of Orrum announce the engagement of their daughter Kristin Fenee Sealey to Leonard “Lee” Arthur Hughes IV, the son of Len and Greta Hughes of Orrum.

Sealey is the granddaughter of Betty S. Prevatte and the late Slick Prevatte of Fairmont, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sealey of Orrum. She attended Fairmont High School and Bladen Community College and works for Brunswick County EMS.

Hughes is the grandson of Joann Hughes and the late Leonard A. Hughes II of Elkin, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Floyd of Barnesville. He attended Fairmont High School and Sandhills Community College and works for the Fairmont Department of Public Safety.

The wedding will be held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Bethesda United Methodist Church.
