Local NAACP chapter to provide transportation to HKonJ7

LUMBERTON — The Unified Robeson County Branch of the NAACP will provide transportation for the HKonJ7 event that will be held in Raleigh on Saturday.

HKonJ7 is a march in favor of ending poverty and economic injustice.

The Rev. Robert Davis, president of the Unified Robeson County Branch-NAACP, said buses and vans will leave from First Baptist House of Joy in Fairmont and Southside School Alumni Building at 6 a.m., and the Walmart parking lot in Lumberton at 7 a.m.

Marchers will assemble at 9:30 a.m. at Shaw University on South Street Raleigh and the march is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.

Wouldn't it be better to march in front of the white house, where all this poverty is from? Under bush we had 4.7% unemployment, now under Obama it's double that. Even higher for minorities.

Soo.. naacp, how 'bout targeting the source of your grief, the Obama white house...
