Louise Parnell Britt, 98, of Lumberton, passed away Dec. 14, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Lumberton Baptist Church, the Rev. Glenn Grant officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1914, in Robeson County, to the late Edward Parnell and the late Molly Potter Parnell. She was formerly employed as a spinner in textiles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Herman Flowers; her husband, Ervin Britt; and two sisters, Queen Britt and Joyce Gibson.
Britt is survived by her son, Jimmy Flowers of Calabash; her grandson, James K. Flowers of Gibson; a daughter-in-law, Nell Lee of Gibson; two brothers, Wallace Parnell of Fairmont, and Charles Parnell of Lady Lake, Fla; and three sisters, Isabel Woodell of Lumberton, Lois Gibson of Gibson, and Sally Shaw of Evergreen.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at West Lumberton Baptist Church, and drop-in visitation will be welcome at the home of Isabel Woodell, 1101 Godwin Avenue in Lumberton.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to West Lumberton Baptist Church Building Fund, 2320 W. Fifth St., Lumberton, N.C., 28358.
