To the Editor,

As I sit here on a beautiful day that the Lord has blessed me with, my heart is heavy. I’m burdened, not only for myself and my children, but for your children and your neighbor’s children.

Just a few days ago, an old wound was opened when I learned that the person responsible for killing my son 14 years ago has been arrested in Robeson County for possession of some of the most dangerous drugs on the street. He has been allowed to walk again, to poison or kill someone else’s child.

I believe the roots of corruption still run deep in our local government. My question is who is responsible for such stupidity, that would allow these things to continue to happen? We must address these issues so that we don’t continue to lose our precious children and let the blame be on the Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office and our legislators.

We must hold those accountable. Two individuals charged with murder, one turns state evidence against the other, he gets a pat on the back, with a lighter sentence, an goes right back to the streets and began business as usual. Wrong, wrong, wrong and dead wrong.

It’s time for God-fearing men to band together with God as our shepherd and say we have had enough. We won’t sit back and allow the devil to continue destroying our children. Remember the Bible story of David and how he was a young boy who faced the giant and was not afraid because he knew God was on his side.

Look up, we’re not alone. I will be asking the attorney general to look at this case.

Parents need to know that any of these drugs this man was arrested for on the streets of Robeson County could kill or destroy the mind of your child.
