Powell- Blount
Ashley Lyann Powell formerly of Fairmont and Phillip Gregory Blount, Jr. of Greenville were married on Jan. 1 at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Fairmont.
The bride is the daughter of Jane Powell of Fairmont and Perry Powell of Dublin. She is the granddaughter of Epsie Lewis of Fairmont and the late Michael Lewis, and the Late James and Rita Powell. She attended Fairmont High School and East Carolina University.
The groom is the son of Phillip Gregory Blount, Sr. of Farmville, and Josephine Blount of Greenville. He is the grandson of the late Henry and the late Ana Cratch of Greenville, and the late George and the late Queen “Mu” Blount of Farmville. He attended J.H. Rose and Grace Barber College, and is the owner and operator of Blounts Sanitary Barber Shop Farmville.
The matron of honor was Charmaine Broadnax, the sister of the bride, and the maid of honor was Stephanie Powell, also the sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Valerie Fields-Rodgers, Jolisa Blount, Miranda Martinez and Tameika Gay.
The best man was Kenny White, and the groomsmen were Lamar Powell, the brother of the bride, and Darnell Broadnax, John Rogers, Jetter Lewis and Ahmad Grant.
J.T. Williams, Aaron Chapman, Jinelle Bayne, Wendy Dixon and Brandi McRae were among the honorary attendants.
The flower girl was Savannah Broadnax, the niece of the bride, and the ring bearer was Trey Smith.
Music was provided by soloists Jessica Leonard and Stephen Love and pianist Angie Carter.
The wedding director was Sandra Pridgen, the photographer was JoAnn Lewis and the register attendants were John and Sally Morgan.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by friends and family of the bride at First Baptist Church in Fairmon.
A reception was hosted by Jane Powell, Carol Bullock, Bryan Lewis and other friends and family.
An Old Fashioned Pounding was hosted by Angie Carter at her home in McDonald, and a bridal shower was hosted by Charmaine Broadnax and Miranda Martinez at First Baptist Church.
A Pampered Chef shower was hosted by Joann Lewis and Sandra Pridgen at the Lewis Packhouse in Fairmont, and a bridesmaid luncheon was hosted by Lynn Smith, Kimberly Lupo, Jackie Herring, Denise Floyd and Carol Bullock at Meriatti’s in Pembroke.
