LUMBERTON — A man has been charged with a fire that destroyed one trailer and damaged two more at Brayboy’s Mobile Home Park on Odum Road in Lumberton on Tuesday morning.
Robert Ray Gwinn, 23, of Lot 24, has been charged with burning certain buildings, felony breaking and entering, and injury to personal property, according to sheriff’s Lt. Brian Duckworth.
It took Lumberton firefighters about an hour to extinguish the blaze in the vacant trailer on Lot 10 after Gwinn set fire to a mattress with a cigarette lighter, according to Duckworth. The other trailers had less damage.
Gwinn was arrested Wednesday and confessed to the crime, according to Duckworth. He is currently being held at the Robeson County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond and was scheduled to make his first court appearance today, Duckworth said.
Gwinn had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for $150 cash.
