Senior Shootout

Jimmy Stone and Mike Gandley were the top winners from the Senior Shootout on Tuesday at Fairmont Golf Club.

The duo won first place in the championship flight, with Mel Britt and J.D. Revels claiming a runner-up finish.

Jerry Jolly and Tom Jones won the first flight, with Richard Moore and Ray Locklear claiming second.

The special event winners were J.D. Revels, Jerry Jolly, Ricky Rogers and Delton Burns.

The next Senior Shootout will be 9 a.m. Tuesday with a shotgun start.

Old Hackers

Bill Link, Rick Smith, Carl Atkinson, Jasper Jackson and Frank McCormick won this week’s Old Hackers League tournament.

Some other tournaments on the horizon are the Ladies League events on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. which is open to all lady golfers. To sign up, call the pro shop at 910-628-9931.

Fairmont Tourney

The Member/Guest tournament at Fairmont Golf Club is on Sept. 12 and 13.

The tournament is open to all members and their guests. All players must have a USGA handicap. The cost is $230 per team and it includes golf both days, lunch and dinner with a calcutta and practice round on Friday.

Meares’ best

W.C. Meares carded his personal best score at Fairmont Golf Club with a 1-under-par 71.
