Contest continues

The NFL’s Punt, Pass and Kick competition will be conducted this weekend at three regional sites, including The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

The Coastal Plains Region of Fellowship of Christian Athletes is hosting the contests, which are for boys and girls ages 6 to 15.

Pine Forest High School will kick off things at 9 a.m. Saturday, with Clinton set to host later in the afternoon at 5 p.m. UNCP will round things out at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Children participate at no cost. Admission for the public is $3 per person. There will also be an unofficial adult PPK competition for persons 18 and older, with a $10 entry fee.

Youth triathlon

The Tri-Warriors are conducting a youth triathlon on Aug. 29 at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

The Robesonian previously reported the wrong name of Purnell Swett’s quarterback on the final drive of the Rams’ game against West Brunswick in the Battle of the Carolinas football classic. Luke Oxendine, quarterback of the junior varsity, led the Rams to the goal line in the final minutes of the game.
