Fairmont beats S. Robeson

ROWLAND — The Fairmont High School volleyball team continued its dominance in the Three Rivers Conference with a 3-0 win at South Robeson on Tuesday.

The Golden Tornadoes (13-1, 7-1) won 25-12, and 25-13 in the final two sets to claim the match.

Tiffany Hicks led the Fairmont attack with 17 service points. Reva Locklear tallied 14 assists for the Golden Tornadoes, with Niya Dickens contributing 12 kills and five digs. Marsha Clewis added nine kills and five blocks.

In junior varsity action, Fairmont won 2-0.

Pirates lose at Pinecrest

SOUTHERN PINES — The Lumberton volleyball team lost in three sets to Pinecrest on Tuesday, falling to 2-13 on the season.

The Pirates lost 25-15, 25-18 and 25-21 in three sets.

Pirates win 6th straight match

LUMBERTON — The Lumberton girls tennis team beat Hoke County 8-1 Tuesday afternoon, winning its sixth straight match.

The Pirates got singles wins from Abby Kinlaw, Abigail Cain, Kaylynn Leggette, Summer Martin, Lane Hickman and Haley Biggins.

Lumberton hosts Cape Fear this afternoon.
