Former Miss Lumbee Jackie Jacobs has created a crowd-funding web page to help fund the costs for gymnast Ashton Locklear’s family to attend the 2016 U.S. Olympic trials in San Jose, Calif., this weekend.
Anyone wanting to donate to help fund Ashton’s parents, Terry and Carrie, and sister, Angelia, expenses for the trip to California can contribute online at: www.generosity.com/sports-fundraising/help-support-Ashton-s-family-to-the-Olympic-trials. The goal is set for $10,000.
Locklear is vying to be the first member of the Lumbee tribe to be an Olympian.
