JACKSONVILLE — Hope Mills Booster and former Purnell Swett pitcher Lucas Oxendine threw a seven-inning no hitter with 10 strikeouts, no walks, two hit batsmen on 66 pitches in 3-0 win over Jacksonville Post 265 in first game of Area II doubleheader. Hope Mills (5-0, 5-0) won second game 13-1 in five innings.

Oxendine is coming off a knee injury that sidelined him for the entire high school baseball season. He signed to play for UNC Wilmington last fall.

Hope Mills features nine players that played for Purnell Swett in the past two seasons. Its next home game is Wednesday at South View with a 7 p.m. first pitch.
