James H. Locklear Sr., 77, of 4479 Preston Road, died Dec. 6, 2005, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Preston Gospel Chapel, the Revs. Simmie Barton, Charles Oxendine and Dr. Kenneth Locklear officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Dial Locklear of Maxton; two sons, James H. Locklear Jr. and Dexter Jacobs, both of Maxton; four daughters, Carolyn L. Hunt and Brenda L. Locklear, both of Pembroke, and Susie L. Locklear and Darlen Dial, both of Maxton; two sisters, Thelma Harris of Maxton and Helen F. Locklear of Pembroke; four brothers, Joseph Locklear and Charles A. Locklear, both of Pembroke, and Bobby D. Locklear and Bruce Locklear, both of Maxton; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Thompson's Funeral Home in Pembroke.
