LUMBERTON - The Lumberton High boys basketball team scraped its way past Terry Sanford on Tuesday, 53-50, for a Two Rivers Conference win.
Danmeon Campbell nailed a pair of free throws with 13 seconds left to seal the win.
Aaron Floyd led the Pirates with 11 points, and William Troy added 10 for Lumberton, which improved to 11-9 overall and 5-4 in the conference.
Lady Pirates fall
The Lumberton girls didn't fare as well, dropping a 76-34 verdict to Terry Sanford.
A 22-10 deficit in the first quarter, followed by a 22-6 hole in the second, spelled doom for the Lady Pirates, 8-12 overall and 4-5 in the conference.
None of the Lady Pirates scored in double figures.
South Rob loses
In Cerro Gordo, the South Robeson boys dropped a Southeastern Conference game to West Bladen, 72-55.
Bradley Strickland led the Mustangs with 16 points, while Ryan Hunt had 11 and Bryan Hallman added 10.
Lady 'Stangs fall
Also in Cerro Gordo, the South Robeson girls fell to West Bladen in Southeastern Conference play, 63-47.
Veronica Brown scored 17 points to lead the Lady Mustangs, but it wasn't enough.
