Dr. Shelli Brewington recently joined the medical staff of SRMC specializing in podiatric surgery. She provides care at Cape Fear Podiatry Associates and is available for surgical consultation at their Lumberton and Fayetteville offices.
A native of Robeson County, Dr. Brewington earned her medical degree from the Dr. William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago, Ill., and completed her surgical residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Her training included special emphasis in diabetic limb salvage/reconstruction and lower extremity trauma.
Dr. Brewington is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Her areas of special interest are traumatic foot and ankle injuries including Achilles tendon repairs, ankle and foot fractures, deformity correction, diabetic Charcot reconstruction and soft tissue coverage of the diabetic foot.
Dr. Brewington joined Cape Fear Podiatry because of a desire to provide surgical care for foot and ankle disorders for the people of southeastern North Carolina. She is the daughter of the Rev. Tony and Peggy Brewington of Pembroke.
