WEDDINGS
Mercer-Carter
Amanda Mercer and Chris Carter were married on the beach of Negril, Jamaica on May 18.
The bride is the daughter of Brian Mercer of Hamer, S.C. and Tana Mercer of Lumberton. She attended The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and works at Southeastern Dermatology.
The groom is the son of the late Jessie Carter of Lumberton and Gene and Retha Mayes of Lumberton. He works for Waccamaw Transport.
The reception will be at Allen Brothers Hunting Preserve on June 2.
ANNIVERSARIES
Carden
Rev. Dr. Bobby K. and Peggy Lou Carden celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 14, 1952.
The celebration was hosted by their children and grandchildren on May 19 at White Oak Free Will Baptist Church in Bladenboro.

Locklear-Pennink
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold and Dale Locklear of Red Springs are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Tiffany Locklear, to Andrew Pennink, son of Dr. Menno and Suzanne Pennink of Fayetteville.
Locklear is a graduate of Purnell Swett High School and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. She is employed with the law firm of Hutchens, Senter, Kellam & Pettit, P.A. as a real estate paralegal.
Pennink is a graduate of Fayetteville Academy, and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Accounting from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is currently a loan officer with Homefront Mortgage.
A fall wedding is planned.
