To the Editor,
A lot of folks question Obama’s place of birth. I never gave it much thought. But I do wonder about his knowledge of the U.S. Constitution.
We’ve been told he graduated from an Ivy League school with a degree in Law. We were informed that he taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago Law School. So, it would be surprising that he would think the federal government has unlimited power.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled against the Obama administration’s claims in the case of Hosanna-Tabor Church vs. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The vote was 9 to 0 against the Obama administration. Even the most liberal justices agreed that the federal government cannot violate the First Amendment rights in this case. A second case, United States vs. Jones even had the liberal ACLU against the Obama administration’s claims because of the Fourth Amendment protections the government failed to understand. And finally, in the Supreme Court case of Sackett vs. Environmental Protection Agency, Obama’s legal beagles failed to realize the unconstitutionality of the strong-arm tactics that were used. Again, the court ruled unanimously against the Obama administration. Details of the cases and decisions are a bit lengthy for a letter to the editor. Such info is readily available on the Internet.
Very soon, we will learn of the Supreme Court’s decision on “ObamaCare.” It is my hope that the justices will again point out that the federal government does not have unlimited power to force its will on us.
