PEMBROKE — The Pembroke Recreation Department will be holding a free outdoor movie night at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Attendants are asked to bring a lawn chair. No coolers are allowed as a concession stand will be available for refreshments.

LUMBERTON — The Carolina Civic Center will hold WKML’s Singer-Songwriter Showcase on Saturday at 7 p.m. at 315 N. Chestnut St. with performances by Jason Matthews, Ira Dean and Sherrie Austin.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission, and $30 for VIP admission, which includes a meet-and-greet dinner with the artists at Lumberton Ford, as well as an early seating.
Tickets can be purchased at the Carolina Civic Center or at Biggs Park Mall.
