Girl Scout Fun

Day on Aug. 25

PEMBROKE — Girl Scouts of Robeson County will hold a Girl Scout Fun Day celebrating the “Year of the Girl” on Aug. 25 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Pembroke Recreational Facility.

There will be activities, games, entertainment and exhibit booths, as well as information on how to become a Girl Scout or Girl Scout volunteer.

Pembroke Day

set for Sept. 19

PEMBROKE — The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and the town of Pembroke are accepting applications to participate in Pembroke Day on Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Clubs and organizations, arts and crafts vendors and area businesses are eligible to apply. The deadline is Sept. 7.

FAIRMONT — The Dorian Taylor Foundation will sponsor a back-to-school Give Away and Clothes Drive at Fairmont Community Park on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Free clothes and school supplies will be given to students and needy families at a first-come, first-serve basis.

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Teen Outreach Program will hold a free dinner and teen social on Monday at the Heritage Center with dinner from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and dancing from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Raleigh ringers

to play Aug. 26

LUMBERTON — The Raleigh Ringers, a handbell choir, will perform rock ‘n’ roll tunes at the Carolina Civic Center on Aug. 26 at 3 p.m.

Individual tickets are $15, and group tickets for 10 or more people are $10 each

Dove hunting

PEMBROKE — Cummings Farms will hold its third annual dove hunt on Sept. 1 starting at 11 a.m. on the corner of North Chicken and Parnell roads.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for youths 16 and under and $5 for children not hunting. Proceeds from ticket sales go to families in need with medical bills and expenses.
