To the Editor,
Let’s see here. Robeson County has the highest-paid commissioners, with some of the best benefits and an unprecedented “pork” fund to go with the lowest per-capita funding for the library system in the state. And we wonder why we have such poverty and illiteracy.
It appears the county commissioners’ philosophy is keep the populace ignorant and they will keep electing them to this great job because the people don’t know any better. Maybe The Robesonian should start comparing the county’s spending in other areas, such as education, to other counties in the state and publish those figures and let’s see where the commissioners’ priorities really are.
