Do you think the county should provide more funding for the library system, which has the lowest per-capita spending of any public system in the state?

“I came to realize that in Robeson County we rank the lowest. We have the lowest funding in North Carolina with almost the highest paid commissioners in the state of North Carolina. This county is backwards! This another example that in Robeson County anything positive we rank the lowest and anything negative we rank the highest. We have the fourth highest paid commissioner in North Carolina. Is this right? No its not right. Our commissioners need to show some discipline and while reducing their salary, benefits and entitlements and help improve things that will help our children succeed in this county.”

“The library system funding should increase because there is a high drop-out rate in Robeson County. Reading is most important during this generation. Every student should be able to work alone without sharing any material in the library. The county should provide more funding for children and maybe the drop out rate will decrease.”

“They need to upgrade the entire education system and get more books and material for the students. Children should be able to take home books and be able to read. This is the most important thing in life is knowing how to read. There should be enough school resources in the library for each child to be able to take home separate material. Not just the library but within the whole entire school. It will give the child a better opportunity at receiving a good education. Because without the use of books or any other material the child has nothing to prepare themselves for their future.”

“Funding should be provided for the library system based on the fact that the library is a place that stores our history as well as fuels our imagination and hopes for the future. Funding is essential to provide help to the library system so they will be better equipped to keep our communities literate and educated.”

“It will be more students attending school and less students dropping out. The library is the most important place in the school. It gives the children a chance to get ahead and keep a positive state of mind. So yes, the county should provide more funding for the library system by taking away some of the unnecessary things in this county.”
