LUMBERTON — Dana Crosby, formerly of Fairmont; Durham White of St. Pauls; Dorothy “Dot” Wilkerson of Lumberton and Marlon Lowry of Pembroke were recognized recently at the Lumber River Council of Governments 40th anniversary celebration at the Southeastern NC Agricultural Events Center.

Crosby, who retired in January after 30 years of service, was recognized for her years of service in workforce development.

White received the Dr. Stanley A. Richardson Workforce Development Board’s Member of the Year award for his demonstrated leadership and service to the board.

Wilkerson received the Aging Advisory Council Member of the Year award, which is presented annually to the council member who has demonstrated outstanding service and dedication to the older adults.

Lowry, who retired in May after 30 years of service, was the recipient of the Solid as a Rock Award, given to a LRCOG employee who has demonstrated dependability and loyal service.

The LRCOG provides programs and services to the member governments located within its region, which is made up of Bladen; Hoke; Richmond; Robeson and Scotland counties.
