James Jordan Cobb Jr., 83, of Hope Mills, died Nov. 8, 2012, at his home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Raymond Wade officiating.

He was born in Parkton on Sept. 24, 1929, to the late James Jordan and Margaret Jones Cobb. The former owner of Parkton Nurseries and Pear Tree Nurseries, he served in the U.S. Air Force and was a lifetime member of Parkton Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Hoa Cam Lu; two daughters, Beth LaPrad and her husband Steve of Summerville, S.C. ,and Danita Rix and her husband David of Jacksonville Beach, Fla; two sons, James J. Cobb III of Summerville and Stephan Cobb of Atlanta; and four grandchildren Brent, Tyler and Lindsey LaPrad, all of Summerville, and Jordan Puentes of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
