Fairmont

Lacy Daniel Locklear, 85, of 424 Miller Road, died Nov 15, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Fairpoint Freewill Baptist Church, the Revs. Johnny Locklear, Charles Cummings and Terry Oxendine officiating. Burial will follow in Raynham Cemetery.

Lacy was born April 27, 1927, in Robeson County to the late Jimmy and Flora Locklear.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bulah Locklear; a brother, Clarence Locklear; three sisters, Hazel Jones, Annie Jane Hammonds and Etta Mae Lowery; and three grandsons, Derrick Locklear, Erick Locklear and Justin Richardson.

He is survived by five daughters, Fred Elaine Locklear and Rachel Oxendine, both of Fairmont, and Helen Lambert, Barbara Owens and Annie Marie Smith, all of Rowland; four sons, Gerald Locklear and Samuel Smith, both of Fairmont, Merrill Locklear of Rowland, and Timmy Smith of Gibson; two sisters, Elvelyn Oxendine of Maxton, and Mary Oxendine of Goldsboro; two brothers, D.L. Locklear of Maxton and James Locklear of Lumberton; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

James Hodges

James Owen Hodges, was born on Sept. 24, 1950, and passed away on Nov. 12, 2012.

A memorial will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church in Lumberton.

James was born in Dunn to two hard-working and loving parents, Owen and Elizabeth Hodges.

He grew up in Lumberton and graduated Lumberton High School in 1968. He and his two brothers, John and Jarvis were raised in a fun-loving, Christian home. Home of the original “Turkey-Bowl,” the Hodges house and yard was “THE” place to be! Friends, fun, and excitement that never stopped! Snow-skiing on the roof, grapevine tag, pranks, music, loading the peanut trucks, and of course BASEBALL! Growing up in that neighborhood, with all those friends and parents, was truly the “endless summer!” That time and place was the last “golden age” of America. We were blessed to be in it!

James was a caring and generous person who lived life to the fullest. If you were his friend, you had a real friend! He will be missed by all that he helped and touched!

Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Elizabeth Raynor Hodges; his wife, Laura Jean Hodges; his two sons, Samuel and Zachary Hodges; his mother-in-law, Edith Smith; his two brothers, John and Jarvis Hodges; his aunt and “second” mother, Christine Bullock; and countless other loving kinfolk and friends.

Catherine Humphrey Tedder, 80, of Fairmont, died Nov. 16, 2012, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Fairmont First Baptist Church, Dr. Jesse Yarbrough officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Memorial Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Robeson County, daughter of John Curtis Humphrey Sr. and Thelma Collins Humphrey.

Catherine was a member of Fairmont First Baptist Church. She graduated from Lumberton High School and was a longtime employee of Robeson County schools

She was predeceased by her husband, William Charles Tedder Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Lynn Tedder Algier (Gil) of Mooresville, Myra Tedder Rega (Jerry) of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Charla Tedder Parker of Fuquay-Varina, Bill Tedder of Knoxville, Tenn., and two granddaughters, Kristin Bullard of Austin, Texas, and Katie Bullard of Aiken, S.C.; a brother, Dr. J.C. Humphrey Jr.; brothers-in-law, Randall Tedder of Fairmont, and Donald Tedder and wife Faye of Clemmons, and C.L. Tedder Jr. and wife Bobbie of Holly Springs; sisters-in-law, Avis Tedder of Fairmont, and Audrey DeLong of Aberdeen; and several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

Kent Shannon Bailey, 62, of Lumberton, passed away on Nov. 15, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols, S.C., the Rev. James Graham officiating.

He was born in Robeson County on June 30, 1950, to the late Hal N. Bailey and the late Estelle Powell Bailey.

Bailey is survived by his wife, Sharon W. Bailey of the home; his brother, Ronnie Bailey of Lumberton; and his sister, Brenda B. Britt of Ocean Isle Beach.

A time of visitation will follow the service at the cemetery and other times at the home.

James Artis Rollins, 62, died Nov. 13, 2012, at Duke Hospital in Durham.

The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at McPhatter Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Darrell Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Patterson Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by a son, James Rollins Jr. of Durham; a sister, Doretha (Washington) Woods of Darlington, S.C.; and a granddaughter, Zoie Rollins of Durham.
