Lumberton
Renee Irene Joyce, 71, of Lumberton, daughter of the late Stephen and Vieva (Hawkins) Joyce, passed away Nov. 24, 2012, in Laurinburg.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2000 Elizabethtown Road in Lumberton. Burial will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton.
Joyce was a 1960 graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School. She attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church while growing up and living in Parkersburg, W.Va. Most recently she attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lumberton.
She is survived by her twin sister, Ruth Ann Doerman, of Lumberton, with whom she made her home; two brothers, James Lee (Wanda) Joyce of Surfside Beach, S.C., and Joseph Leo (Barbara) Joyce of Vienna, W.Va.; two nieces, Gretchen Joyce Doerman of Lumberton, and Carmela Joyce (Todd) Ellerby of San Diego; four nephews, Dr. Joseph L. (Lori) Joyce of Blacksburg, Va., John L. (Beth Ann) Joyce of Hamlin, W.Va., Thomas T. Joyce of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Timothy A. Joyce of Denver, Colo; six stepnieces and stepnephews, Gordon (Mary) Wilkins of Colorado., John (Charla) Wilkins of Surfside Beach, S.C., Haifa Bentakadi of New York, Edie Pilewski of Surfside Beach, S.C., Tamara Madden of Ohio, and Simon Derer of Surfside Beach.
Joyce is also survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews; her special great-nephew, George Payne Doerman of Lumberton, Michael, Matthew and Jonathon Joyce, all of Blacksburg, Va., Mason Joyce of Hamlin, W.Va., Austin and Shelby Ellerby, both of San Diego; Xzavier and Zoe Derer of Pawley’s Island, S.C., and Bastian Bodie Derer of Surfside, S.C., Kai Wilkins of Surfside Beach, S.C.; and other stepnieces and stepnephews of Ohio, New York, Florida and Colorado.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St., Lumberton.
