Melba Lamb Rowland, 92, of Lumberton, passed away Dec. 11, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow.

She was born on Sept. 24, 1920, in Robeson County to the late Grady Lamb and the late Ida Lovette Lamb. She was formerly employed as a nursing assistant at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lester Rowland; and a son, Charles Lester Rowland.

Rowland is survived by her daughter, Edith Baxley and husband Fletcher of Lumberton; her sister, Ruby Flowers of Lumberton; her sister-in-law, Lillian Edwards of Fayetteville; her brother-in-law, Daniel Rowland of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Charles Franklin and wife Lisa, Sherry Edwards, and Kathy Baxley; and three great-grandchildren, Benji Edwards, Sidney Baxley and Alana Baxley.

A time of visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
