SRMC offers health screens

LUMBERTON — Southeastern Regional Medical Center is sponsoring Life Line Screenings in order to help local residents identify their risk of stroke, vascular disease and osteoporosis before the catastrophic effects of these conditions occur.

Locally, an event will be held Jan. 31 at Godwin Heights Baptist Church in Lumberton.

A special wellness package is available for $149. The whole process takes less than an hour. To pre-register for a screening, contact Life Line Screening at www.lifelinescreening.com or call 1-800-690-0295 to make an appointment.

Seminar set on weight issues

LUMBERTON — Dr. Eric Velazquez, of Southeastern Surgical Center, will host a seminar on a variety of weight loss surgery options, including adjustable gastric band, sleeve gastrectomy, and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, on Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. Southeastern Weight Loss Center.

The center is located within the Southeastern Health Mall on the campus of Biggs Park Mall in Lumberton. Registration is required by calling 910-608-0307.
