ST. PAULS — A 37-year-old St. Pauls woman was killed Friday when she was struck by a SUV while walking on U.S. 301, according to the state Highway Patrol.

Annie Marie Oxendine, of 122 Decker Road, was walking about 2.3 miles south of St. Pauls at 10:45 p.m. when she crossed the road “directly in the path of” the southbound 2003 Chevrolet SUV, Sgt. Daniel Hilburn said. She was thrown from the road and died immediately.
