LUMBERTON — Two men have been killed in separate shootings this week in Lumberton and St. Pauls.

A 52-year-old Lumberton man was killed and a woman was injured during a shooting on Monday night at an apartment building, according to Lumberton police Capt. Terry Parker.

John Rowe, of 1114 E. First St., was shot and killed outside of his apartment at about 8:50 p.m., Parker said. Sharon Crump, 32, of Spearman Street, was injured in the shooting, but her injuries were not life threatening, according to Parker.

“We don’t know the motive right now, or what this was about,” Parker said. “We don’t have any suspects at this time.”

Lumberton police Detective Duane Hunter is conducting the investigation. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Lumberton Police Department at 910-671-3845

The name of the man who was killed during a home invasion that occurred shortly before midnight on Sunday near St. Pauls has been released.

Gary Wayne Adams Jr., 22, of 1080 E. Green Springs Road, Parkton, was shot and killed when someone broke into a mobile home at 381 Edge Grove Circle near St. Pauls, according to sheriff’s Maj. Howard Branch. The owner of the home, 44-year-old Anthony Williams, was shot in the arm and stomach, Branch said. His condition was not available this morning.

Branch said that Michael Rawls, 27, of the 500 block of Edge Grove Circle, heard a knock on the door at about 11:30 p.m. and when he opened the door, a gunman opened fire. Four people, including Adams and Williams, were shot, but Rawls was not among them.

Branch said that Adams was among multiple people who broke into a mobile home. Branch didn’t know the names of the other two people who were shot.

I just want to say that some of the comments here are hurtful and ignorant. There are people who have been touched by these deaths that do not deserve the cruel and harsh words being written. A mother is a mother whether her child is a scholar or a thug. A mother does her best to raise a child in the way that he SHOULD go. Who can explain why one child migrates towards violence while another excels academically? Both are still her children and she LOVES them unconditionally. For those who continually point fingers at others…remember that as you point one [1] finger at someone else, the other fingers are pointing back at you. Also, to state that certain people live in certain ‘communities’ is truly as ignorant as suggesting that because one looks a certain way, therefore he IS! Profiling is not the answer; in fact, it is illegal. Life is what we make it and if you are NOT a part of the solution, then you are definitely a part of the problem. Now PROFILE that.

WRONG! There's a lot of mothers who don't love their children and could care less about them. You can tell the ones without the love by how they end up in life. Not always, but just about 99% of the time a poor un-wed "mom" will raise an un-loved kid who'll end up in a life of crime filled with hate and rage..... Look the stats up yourself and quit denying this known fact.

We're not allowed to discuss gangs. When one brings it up, even a discussion on this forum, the name callers come out. Doesn't stop( I care) me, but so many who want to help and have much to say, don't appreciate being called ugly names like racist. So most of them will just look the other way, sigh to themselves and shake thier head in silent.

So all you name callers, you made your bed now lie in it. Most of us wanting to bring attention don't live in "their" communities, most of you who call us names do............

ps. So deal with it.

I chose to discuss any issue that I want. . .and race is not the issue because there are other races in this same gang besides blacks. The issue at hand is innocent people are becoming victims of these idiots actions... I am not saying these people are innocent but there are several people that have been. . . As for living in their community. . . I am nowhere near it, but who is to say they will not decide to pull the trigger while in the parking lot of Food Lion in Lumberton. There needs to be a joint operation the one conducted near Norfolk, VA . . . When the local agencies and Feds took on the Bounty Hunter Bloods. These individuals from the 41 curve gang has destroyed lives throughout this county. . . And it is not just among the blacks. . . They are responsible for to all races. It is not law enforcement fault because they are limited. . . It is going to require a joint effort from local, state, and federal officials.

If you look like a criminal, you PROBABLY(maybe not, but most times) are criminal.

To stop this my way it's simple, allow cops to PROFILE. If you don't want to be stopped walking down the street, don't look like a thug criminal. Random walking stop and frisks all over town. Put up walk blocks, sorta like road blocks and check people's pockets..... Cruel, yeah but, so are they.

Ps. And for you ignorant democrats, why don't we just ban guns, the thugs are sure to turn theirs in as soon as it becomes law, right?

That's wishful thinking. The COCKROACH CLOWNMISSIONERS have got THEIR OWN gang to run. And they're the SORRIEST, CROOKEDEST, THIEVEINGEST GANG in Robeson County. No other GANG will EVER come close. Not even The Red Springs Mafia or Purnee The Pilferer and his bunch. Pembroke is now in 4th place and that "Lumbee club" is not even showing in relation to the official COCKROACH GANG.

Ending the War on Drugs would go a long way toward putting a lot of gangs out of business.
