WISHART

LUMBERTON — Patricia Ann Arnold Wishart, 67, loving wife of John E. Wishart Jr., departed this life on Dec. 31, 2012, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

A memorial will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Lumberton.

She was born in Hawthorne, Nev., on Dec. 27, 1945, to the late Rosby B. Arnold and Kathleen Arnold.

Pat graduated high school in Portsmouth, Va,. in 1963, and graduated East Carolina University, where she served as a member of Tri-Sigma Sorority, in May 1968 with a degree in Business Administration. She began her career as a teller with Southern National Bank in Lumberton. Pat accepted a teaching position with the Robeson County Schools at Fairmont Middle School, Carroll Middle School, and Lumberton Jr. High, covering a career of 21 years and thousands of students. She was a member of many different clubs but dearly loved the Southeastern Shag Club. She and John loved “beach music.”

Pat is survived by her mother, Kathleen Arnold, who resides in a rest home in Durham; her husband, John E. Wishart Jr. of the home; a son, John Brent Wishart and partner Jeff Oberhaus; a daughter, Katherine Sloane Provenza and husband Salvatore Provenza; and a granddaughter, Sydney Rose Provenza.

A time of visitation will take place following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Paul Haines

PARKTON — Paul Stephen Haines, 67, of Parkton, died Dec. 31, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

A memorial will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home in St. Pauls.

He was born Oct. 24, 1945, in Cumberland County. He was the son of the late Frederick Stephen and Eula Nicholson Haines.

He was survived by his wife, Fay McMillan Haines; a son, Jeff Haines and his wife Paula; and three grandchildren, Kyle, Dylan and Logan Haines.

John Blake

LUMBERTON – John Thomas Blake, 46, of Lumberton, passed away Dec. 31, 2012, at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn.

The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 450 Liberty Hill Road in Lumberton, President John Ricks officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

He was born in Provo, Utah, on July 31, 1966, to James David Blake and Marlene Thomas Blake.

Surviving are his parents, James David Blake and Marlene Thomas Blake of the home; a brother, David Blake of Lumberton; and Jim and Lavella Dale, known to John as “Ma” and “Daddy,” who helped care for him while he resided in Dunn.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday before the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Saddletree Fire Department, c/o Chief Willie Bell, 210 Willie Road, Lumberton, N.C., 28360.

James Inman

LUMBERTON – James Lamar “Sam” Inman, of Lumberton, passed away Jan. 1, 2013, at Woodhaven Nursing Center of Lumberton.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Meadowbrook Cemetery, the Rev. Joe Bounds officiating.

He was born on March 5, 1936, in Robeson County. He was the son of the late George Sherwood Inman and the late Ettie Prevatte Inman. He was formerly employed as a salesman for Swift Packing Co. Inman also served as a deputy for the Robeson County Sheriff’s Department and the Fairmont Police Department. He was also a charter member of the Robeson County SWAT Team.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Singletary; his son, Jimmy Inman; a granddaughter, Kayla Leigh Smith; and a brother, Andrew Fay Inman.

Inman is survived by three daughters, Laura I. Hardie and husband Donald of Denton, Pamela W. Williams and husband Tim of Lumberton, and Kimberly W. Smith and husband Larry of Lumberton; a brother, George Fagan Inman and wife Margaret of Fairmont; a sister, Elizabeth Sealey of Lumberton; three grandchildren, Troy Williams, Brandy Hardie and Ashley Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Mikaela Vestal and Shane Vestal

The visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc.

The family will also be receiving friends at the home of George Fagan Inman, 600 Park Ave., Fairmont.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Southeastern Hospice, 2002 N. Cedar St., Lumberton, N.C., 28358, or to Gibson Cancer Center, 1200 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, N.C., 28358.

Foy Wester

LUMBERTON — Foy Barnes Wester, 100, died Jan. 1, 2013, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont. Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery.

She was born June 13, 1912, in Robeson County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Myrta Lewis Barnes; her husband, Jim Wester; a son, Aubrey Wester; and a grandson, Ricky Wester.

She is survived by three sons, William L. Wester and wife Sue of Lumberton, Jimmy Wester and wife Mary Frances and Charles Wester and wife Linda, all of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Dan Wester, Angela Wright and Scott Wester; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Wright and Darren Wester.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.
