LUMBERTON – Dora Oxendine Hunt, 86, of Old Allenton Road, died Jan. 16, 2013, at Southeastern Health.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel in Lumberton, the Revs. Carl Pevia, David Hunt, Charles Locklear and Dr. Kenneth Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Harpers Ferry Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dora was a proud and devoted member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School, and served as assistant secretary, Vacation Bible School director and a woman missionary.

Dora was especially fond and thankful for a few close friends such as Georgianna Gearld, Virginia Jacobs, Willie Scott and her primary caretaker, Jeniva Oxendine.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hunt; her son, Richard Hunt; and parents, Danny and Bessie Oxendine.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Sylvia Butler (Billy Ray) of Lumberton, Libby Cooper (David) of Tennessee, and Francine Locklear (Gurney) of Lumberton; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
