ST. PAULS — A teenager and a pastor from St. Pauls were killed Saturday night in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 301 near St. Pauls.

Details of accident are unknown, as the Highway Patrol office is closed until Monday, but according to posts on the Facebook page for Chick-fil-A in Lumberton, one of the dead is an employee who was on his way to work, Zack Murdock. The other is Frank Strickland, pastor of New Beginnings Church of God in St. Pauls.

The restaurant is closed today, but opened this afternoon to those who wanted to gather in rememberance of Murdock and Strickland.

There were multiple passengers in Strickland’s vehicle, including his wife Stacy and daughter Gabby, who were taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Their status was not available Sunday.

The Robesonian will update the story at robesonian.com and in Tuesday’s print edition.

This is her sister. Stacy is doing okay. Both of her arms are broken. She is still in the hospital so she hasn't been able to read this.

Yes this was the accident that happened on 301. The other 3 children are doing well. They have bumps, scrapes and bruises. Thank you for helping my nieces, nephew and sister in law. I would like to ask everyone to please please keep the other family in their prayers also. This was an accident and both families are suffering from a great loss.

The teenager was Zachery Murdock, son of Gloria Murdock and Pasror Ron Murdock. He leaves behind an older half brother, a younger sister, Alyssa, and the youngest, his brother Aaron, who is 12. He was on his way to his new job at Chick-fil-a. He was so excited that he had gotten a job there.

I saw the vehicle, it is not a Ford Explorer. The vehicle is a blue Ford Expedition.

I was not being petty, I understand lives were lost. I was correcting the news paper's mistake. I know both of the families and my prayers are with them.
