LUMBERTON — A local physician has been charged with not filing a tax return for three years, according to a statement by the N.C. Department of Revenue.
Larry Adam Hearne, 62, of 202 Edinborough Drive, was charged Wednesday with failure to file a North Carolina individual income tax return from 2008 through 2010.
His bond was set at $6,000 and he was scheduled to appear in Wake County District Court on Feb. 21.
Hearne, an obstetrician and gynecologist, works at the Women’s Life Center of Lumberton and has been a member of the staff at Southeastern Regional Medical Center since 1991. The hospital did not wish to make a statement.
The charges followed an investigation by a special agent with the department’s Criminal Investigations Section.

Just one, we are waiting. If you can't, you will be know as a lier.
What will happen as our taxes increase due to Obama care, you, the patient will pay thru increases in our prices. We are just the middle man. The government taxes what we do, and we pass it along to the customer to pay... Get ready.
Please, if your gonna get mad, get your facts right. My goodness.........
ps. And I dropped out of highschool and joined the army at 17.. And you?...
But why should high income earners have to pay 39% of their income plus 11% to NC state? That comes to 50%... So if a physician EARNS 500 thousand a year, guess what, 250 thousand goes to the government and some low-life gets a tax-refund even though they didn't pay a darn dime in. Guess where that refund comes from? Pathetic.
The next time you get sick, go ask a low-life loser to make you well, we'll do just fine without you.
But, the government overtaxes high income earners. It's a form of punishment. Then they reward the low income un-educated losers of society with no taxes. I say tax the poor at a higher amount than the high income makers and maybe, just maybe that would intice those bums to get off the floor of income and do something.
The lower your income the higher you pay in taxes... Now that's fair.
