Jerry Martin

LUMBERTON — Jerry Wayne Martin, 62, of Lumberton, passed away Feb. 19, 2013, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, the Rev. George Connor officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Faith Mausoleum.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, but his true passion was more than 35 years as an over-the-road truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Alex Everette; his parents, James and Opal Martin; and three sisters, Janet Martin, Kathy Lewis and Vickie Martin.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Dolly Martin of the home; four children, Angela Addesso and husband Dennis, William “Billy” Everette and wife Peggy, Timothy Everette, and Paula Mauney and husband Keith; nine grandchildren, Candice, John, Kevin, Brooke, Chelsea, Quinten, Megan, Merissa and Travis; and five great-grandchildren, Haley, Emma, Taylor, Cambria, and Kenzie; a sister, Sherry Sampson of Rowland; four brothers, Donald Martin of Tampa, Fla., Danny Martin of Albemarle, Darryl Martin and Jimmy Martin, of Lumberton.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Biggs Funeral Home.
