Ernest Willoughby

LUMBERTON — Ernest P. Willoughby, 91, of Lumberton, passed away on Feb. 24, 2013.

Willoughby was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Floyd Memorial Chapel, Dr. David Elks officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery.

He was born April 22, 1921, in Robeson County, the son of the late William F. Willoughby and Mary Bass Willoughby.

Willoughby is survived by his wife, Rosa Lee of the home; a son, E. Paul Willoughby and wife Pat of Durham; his grandson, Rex Willoughby and wife Kelli of Chapel Hill; his brothers, Wilbur Willoughby of St. Pauls, Braxton Willoughby of Red Springs, Furman Willoughby of Lumberton; a sister, Eva Bowen of Lumberton; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Ty of Chapel Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Floyd Memorial Chapel.
