LUMBERTON — A fire that destroyed an outbuilding on Tuesday is the third time in the past year that a Lumberton man has been victimized, according to Lt. Brian Duckworth of the Robeson County Sheriff’s Department.

Duckworth said that Timmy Locklear, of 1522 Huggins Road, has been a victim of arson and shootings at his home. Locklear was making plans to move back onto the property when the outbuilding was destroyed by the fire.

The Raft Swamp Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call that was made sometime after 2 a.m. Tuesday. Damages were estimated at about $7,000.

According to Duckworth, someone set fire to Locklear’s mobile home on Sept. 23, and he also suffered a gunshot wound to his back. On Dec. 10, someone tried to set fire to a barn on Locklear’s property.

Anyone with information should call Duckworth at 910-737-5067.
