John Arnette
FAIRMONT — John David J.D. Arnette, 84, husband of Dora Ivey Arnette, passed away March 15, 2013, at Southeastern Health of Lumberton.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Oakdale Baptist Church in Fairmont, the Rev. Jackie Spillers officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery of Fairmont.
He was born on June 21, 1928, in Robeson County to the late Sam Arnette and the late Vivian Bass Arnette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Nichole Lee; and a sister, Burnelle Rogers.
Arnette is survived by his wife, Dora Ivey Arnette of the home; his daughter, Anita Arnette Thompson and husband Archie of Fairmont; two brothers, Kelton Arnette of Fairmont and Bill Arnette of Hamer, S.C.; a sister, Lucille Huggins of Darlington, S.C.; two grandchildren, David Adams and wife Kim and Richie Adams and wife Angie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Floyd Funeral Services Inc. of Fairmont.
