John Teal

ST. PAULS — John Lucas Teal Jr., 84, of St. Pauls, died March 19, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Chesterfield County, S.C., on Jan. 8, 1929, to the late John Lucas and Janie McLaurin Teal Sr.

He was the owner of Teals Department Store in St. Pauls.

A memorial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Pauls United Methodist Church, the Rev. Bruce Skipper officiating.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Ingram Teal; his daughters, Karen Tew and Saundra Murphy and her husband Don; a son, Richard Teal; two grandchildren, Alyssa Tew and Sterling Teal; and a sister, Lib Ellis.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McNeill Mackie Funeral Home in St. Pauls.
