George Milton Russ Sr., 85, of Dillon, S.C., formerly of Rowland, died Oct. 21, 2012, at Regency Hospital in Florence, S.C.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Dogwood Baptist Church, the Rev. Roger Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

He was born April 27, 1927, in Bladen County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Russ and Maude King Russ; his wife, Gladys Mitchell Russ; and a son, Thomas Eugene Russ.

He is survived by four daughters, Judy Wyman, Brenda Jones, Terry Cox and husband Perry, all of Dillon, and Denise Hutto and husband Michael of Mullins, S.C.; two sons, George Russ and wife Rose of Hope Mills, N.C., and Leslie Russ of Dillon; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Floyd Funeral Services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dogwood Baptist Church at 520 Dogwood Church Road in Rowland.
