Thesia Davis Tyner, 93, of Lumberton, died on Nov. 17, 2012, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton, the Revs. Tim Tyner, Frankie Bass, and Leroy Hunt officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.

She was born in Robeson County on Nov. 17, 1919, to the late Everette Davis and the late Addie Miller Davis. She previously worked as a cook at Doc Davis’s Restaurant & Café.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Hezzie Tyner and an infant son, Wilbur Hezzie Tyner.

Tyner is survived by three sons, Ben “Joe” Tyner of the home, Joseph Harold Tyner and wife Louise and Johnny Tyner and wife Pat, all of Lumberton; a daughter, Brenda T. Walters of Lumberton; a brother, Ben Davis of High Point; two sisters, Elois Burns of Red Springs, and Martha Emmons of Rock Fish; a special adopted son and daughter, Leroy and Lugennia Hunt; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday.
