Elsie Lewis Prevatte, 82, of Fairmont, died Dec. 10, 2012, at her home.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Floyd Memorial Cemetery, Dr. Jesse Yarbrough officiating.

Prevatte was born April 23, 1930, in Robeson County to the late William and Sada Atkinson Lewis.

Along with her late husband, Sherrell Prevate, they co-owned and operated Prevatte Funeral Home in Fairmont for more than 40 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherrell D. Prevatte; a daughter, Laura Prevatte; and sister, Elois Garrett.

She is survived by a son, Mark Prevatte of Fairmont; three daughters, Lisa Prevatte and husband Chad of Orrum, Sherry Prevatte and Susan Prevatte, both of Fairmont; a sister, Dixie Thomas of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Kiley, Jade and Emma; and a special cousin, Dan Lewis.

The family will receive friends following the service at the home of her daughter, Lisa Risen, 2058 Bethesda Church Road in Orrum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to First Baptist Church P.O. Bos 663, Fairmont, N.C.
