William Mark Powell, 55, of 402 E. Chapel St., Rowland, died peacefully surrounded by family on Dec. 10, 2010.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Rowland, the Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rowland Cemetery.

Mark was the son of Barbara A. Powell and the late William Thomas Powell. He was a graduate of Rowland High School and Pembroke State University. He was also a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Rowland.

Mark is survived by his mother, of Shallotte; his sister and brother-in-law, Joanna P. and Ed W. Prince III from North Myrtle Beach, S.C., who were his loving caregivers; and his aunt and uncle, Nancy and Bobby Bridgers of North Myrtle Beach; and several cousins.

The visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home, 312 W. Main St., Rowland, N.C., 28383.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 397, Rowland, N.C., 28383.
