Sunny Duke
PARKTON — Sunny Williams Duke passed away Jan. 21, 2013, after an extended illness.
A memorial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Parkton Baptist Church, Pastor Howard Lucus, a longtime family friend, officiating.
Sunny was a lifelong resident of Parkton. She loved her town and her friends.
Sunny was preceded in death by her husband, Asa W. Duke; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Layton Williams; her brother, Wayne; and a sister, Elaine.
Sunny leaves behind to mourn her passing her son, Michael Duke and his wife Shelly, both of Matthews; two grandsons, Auston and Layton, who were the joy of her life; her sister, Jennifer Carter; her niece, Terrie Evans of Sumter, S.C.; her nephews, Bryan and John, both of Parkton; her dear friend, Dawn Plyler of Parkton; her loving sister-in-law, Delores Knowles of Fayetteville; and several other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Sunny’s name to the organization of one’s choice.
