MAXTON — Henry “Chief” Dial, 61, of 233 Harpers Ferry Road, Maxton, was born March 15, 1951, to the late Franklin and Betty Dial. He departed this life on March 9, 2013.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Harpers Ferry Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Coming of Christ Church Cemetery on Deep Branch Road.

He was a member of the Coming of Christ Church. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father, and a loving papa. To his friends he was Chief, to the community he was Mr. Henry, to his nieces and nephews, he was Uncle Henry.

Henry was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Dial, Joseph Dial and William Doris Dial; and a stepgrandson, Sean Thomas Brayboy.

Henry leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 28 years, Jean Dial of the home; two daughters, Beth Dial of the home and friend Adron Deal of Fairmont, Jenna Dial Sampson and husband Joseph Sampson of Rowland; two sons, Linden Hayes of Pembroke, and Heath McMillian of Lumberton; a stepson, Sean Brayboy (Monica) of Pembroke; five brothers, Listern Dial (Eva), Rayborn Dial (Paulette), Kelly Dial (Rosie Mae), and Ellery Dial (Louise), all of Maxton, and Crayton Dial (Annette) of Pembroke; four sisters, Elenora Bullard (Shelton), Bertha “Clara” Spaulding (Roy), both of Maxton, Kallet Yerovsek (Jim) of Leesburg, Va., and Betty Brum (Joe) of Lumberton; two grandsons whom he cherished and loved dearly, Aiden Chase Deal (Scoot) and Jeremy Blake Deal (Blay Blay), both of the home; a stepgrandson, Steven Tyler Brayboy of Pembroke; a stepgreat-grandson, Jaxon Brayboy of Pembroke; special friends, Greg and Sue Oxendine; and a host of nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home in Pembroke.
