Dorothy Green
LUMBERTON — Dorothy Tiencken Green, 86, widow of Richard James Green, died March 12, 2013, in Lumberton.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be private.
Green was born June 24, 1926, in Charleston, S.C., where she attended Memminger High School. She graduated with honors from the College of Charleston, where she played basketball and was a member of the Chi Omega Fraternity.
She worked for the Citizens and Southern National Bank, and she retired after 20 years as assistant clerk of Charleston City Council.
Green was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the Arion Society Auxiliary and the Franke Home Advisory Board.
She is survived by a son, Richard Green Jr. of the Turks and Caicos Islands; two daughters, Helen Musselwhite and husband Robert Musselwhite of Lumberton, and Marcia Green of Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren, John Coville Jr. and Jonathan Green, both of Charleston, S.C., and Garen Smith and Kevin Smith of Goose Creek, S.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Smith and Olivia Smith of Richland, N.Y.
The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at J. Henry Stuhr’s Downtown Chapel in Charleston, S.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.
