James Harley Jacobs, 86, of 64 McKensie St., died Monday at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be private.
Jacobs was born on Jan. 2, 1928, in Robeson County, to the late Duncan and Ida Spaulding Jacobs.
He was a chef. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and he was a member of the American Legion Post of Whiteville.
Surviving are his son, J.W. Jacobs of Lumberton; two sisters, Isadora Lambright of Columbia, S.C., and Etta Bracey of Lake Waccamaw; two brothers, Woodrow Jacobs of Clarkton and Elbert Jacobs of New York; and a granddaughter, Brittany Jacobs of Lumberton.
