Ever wonder what doesnt make the box score or fit in the game story? Heres a few quick hits from the areas six prep football programs after Week 3.

  • Due to a wide scoring margin, Red Springs quarterback Blake Greene has been benched during the third quarter in two of three games this season. Since he leads the county with 18 total touchdowns, statistically speaking, hes accounting for an average of two trips to the end zone every 12 minutes of action for the Red Devils.
  • Fairmonts offense has responded in a big way since picking up less than 60 total yards in the season opener. Over the last two games, the Golden Tornadoes are averaging 46 points and 378.5 yards per contest.
  • With Fridays 42-point outing at Southern Lee, St. Pauls continued its torrid stretch offensively to start the season, scoring six or more touchdowns in every game. In head coach Trey Sassers previous four seasons combined, the Bulldogs reached that mark on just three occasions.
  • Turnover margin has been a staple of Mark Heils success at Purnell Swett, but the Rams are minus-8 in that department this season, including 13 total fumbles and interceptions in losses to Pine Forest and Hoggard.
  • Lumberton fumbled six times in Fridays win over South View, seven if you count Frankie Dickersons dropped pitch on the first play from scrimmage. Dickerson scooped it up and rumbled 69 yards for a touchdown.
  • South Robeson has won back-to-back games for the first time since 2009 under then-head coach Larcoy McRae.
